Hi I am planning for self filing EAD. I want to do e-file, but I heard that that if you are e-filing you need to go for finger printing. At the same time I also heard that no matter whether you go for e-filing or sending application to USCIS, if your finger printing is expired than you may need to go for the finger printing. Please suggest the best way to file for the EAD(I-765 form).
Als one more thing "Which USCIS Office?" section which date I need to put there.
I sent mine on April 5th and I sent it to the filing address in Arizona because I live in Colorado. Please check the new filing address. Good luck.

How are you planning to get PCC from consulate. I live in colorado and going to SFO would be very expensive as well as time consuming. Do you know how much time consulate would take through mail? I am skeptical whether they would send my passport back by Aug 15 or not as I am planing to leave on Aug 15.

But I ve seen in some of the posts where ppl say that we can be on vacation, self-employed etc etc...what does it mean? do they still need to produce pay stubs....My Pd is Nov 2006 it may take several yrs..do they really dig deep from there to my first entry?
Its always safe to have paystubs for atlease 180 days after your 485 receipt date. If they call you for an interview at local office during adjudication, which may happen after anywhere from weeks, months, or years, there are chances that you may be asked to produce paystubs starting from month before interview date all the way back to your first H1 entry into US.
Please do not open new threads for these question for which there are several thread opened and are being discussed thru. Why don't you ask this question on one of those post?

If I was within 3 hours of driving distance from downtown DC(like VA, PA, DE, MD) then I would leave early from work a couple of hours to attend this event. Some members are flying from Seattle, Nevada, Florida and other are driving from NY, NJ etc.
It would be worth your time to hear first hand from Immigration Voice, something that has been much desired by many members when they want to know the future direction and current prospects. Plus you would know other IV members in DC area with whom you can co-ordinate in the future.
So, although this event is on monday due to scheduling reasons, its worth leaving work a couple of hours early if that's what it takes to make it here.
If you make a decision, here is the RSVP email again(we need head count for planning).

You should also consider the GC factor. If your L employer is willing to sponsor a GC, then that is terrific.
You can come into the US in Jan 2008 on L-1A, apply for your 140/485 in Feb 2008 (labor is not required for EB1 and the PDs are current) and you should have your GC by Jan 2009.
On the other hand, if you come here on a H visa, you may not have a GC even during 2019!
Weigh your options and plan accordingly.

Do you have a currently valid H-1 visa stamped in your passport? If you do, you don't have to apply for a new visa at a US Consul abroad. You would only have to leave the US and return using that visa and presenting the approval notice for company A along with proof that you are coming to the US to work for company A.
I agree with Raysaikat that USCIS is not likely to approve a nunc pro tunc H-1 under these circumstances. But whether or not you pursue this option, you should get and keep as much documentation as possible to show you honestly and reasonably believed you were authorized to work for company B. Such documentation might include any written communications from company B or the attorney telling you that the H petition had been filed and/or that you could legally begin work for them.

I have filed for Advance parole the second time, got it approved and the documents in hand in about 4 weeks.
The dates can be tentative, put in a date when you think you might travel, its not hard and fast so guesstimate.
The list of docs to be sent with your AP form are :
� Filled in form I-131
� Check
� 2 Photographs
� Copy of I-485 receipt notice
� Copy of previous approved advance parole document(if any)
� Copy of passport pages
� Copy of drivers license

Yahoooooooooooooo......We (Me and my wife) received welcome notice today . Our 485 is approved on 25 th March.
no updates online just received postal mail from USCIS today .
I guess end of long wait , been in country from 2001 .
I wish you all the best and hang in there if your PD is current you can expect the notice any time so keep checking your postal mail box .
FYI - I dont know if my back ground check is clear or not , I guess it is .

I just checked on my service request and after 2 weeks they still have not done anything, no updates on case no fp notice nothing since April 30th...and here they received it on April 16th....
I am not sure i need a fp notice, I simply hoped that they would look at the EAd if I put in a service request, because they have been sitting on it
I also was told by this lady that the 90 days turnaround of EADs is just an estimate and I need to wait 45 days for a response on my service request....well i am on 60 days for EAd now so 60 plus 45 thats 105 and I cannot afford them messing around this long!!!!!
