I'm hoping mymemory's post is tongue in cheek, as edesignuk has been, to date, exemplary in his duties, without losing that sense of humour we all know and expect.
The mods here have done a great job in making MacRumors the most friendly and useful forum site I know of, and I hope us n00bie mods can carry on that work.
If everyone stayed within the rules, our job would be easy, but we have rules to observe too, and that is going to make us unpopular with some individuals some of the time.
It's OK, it's part of the job as far as I'm concered, I know I'm helping a forum that has been a great place to hang out over the years, and I know the other mods, mini or otherwise, feel the same.
Thanks for all your comments, helpful or otherwise, it shows what this place means to us.

Coming from an Apple / Mac Fan and non iPhone or iPodTouch kind of Guy & Girl, I sure Hope Apple keeps Sharp on Macs... I was at my 1st and 5th Grader's Parent - Teacher Conference at Chautauqua Lake Central School on 11/18/10 and there were 3 or 4 Macs in each Home Room... I got to believe Steve knows that if they get the Kids Hooked on Apple that they'll be an Apple Buyer for iLife.... We are also ProSumer kind of FCP people and Love our Mac versus the Windows world... Get Your Kids Hooked on iKidsFishing and not on Drugs leads to an Apple a Day keeps the Doctor away... Get it...? I hate AT&T with a passion. Yet, I'd never switch to Verizon because I'm hooked on 3Mbps + speeds. They're the crack of carriers.
Switching is probably useless, as Verizon most likely will do the same.
Why leave money on the table?
I agree with the poster about ATT always charging something extra here and there and they know they get away with it as you can never reach anybody to straighten this out or most people won't check a 75 plus page phone bill.

I am also looking into Boost or other pay as you go services for phone calls.
Need more wifi in places and we can get away with an ipod or ipad.
Let's just say lots of us will check how to get unf#$#$

2008 iMac uses DDR2 so unfortunately the RAM from your MBP is not compatible. E.g. this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231156) will work.

Google don't map the world either - they do the street map images, but if you look at Google Maps you'll see that the actual roads data comes from either Tele Atlas or Navteq. Those two companies sell their map sets to all the sat-nav companies too.
No need. Apple would just license the map data from either Navteq or Tele Atlas. The map data that Google uses at present is TeleAtlas (Especially for Europe).
Is this well-veiled sarcasm? If not, you guys are ridiculous.

3) None of them obtained their data by having employees drive around in vehicles... That's an absurd suggestion

with the iTv and nike+ as testing groungs for apples wirless products, perhaps this is why we have seen the delay in the release of the fabled "iphone"? Also contributing to the delay is the time spent in developing the new ear buds. Mr. Jobs said the studied 10,000 ears or someting right? so the could have been developing the iphone pod set. the head set that is a fasion statement and a music player. great sound quality built into a stereo wireless headset that hooks up to iphone. like the first itunes enabled phone commercial with the guy walking and his shadow is dancing, and then answers a call,and then keeps on going :) this pod set will be the next big thing;) :D :p

google maps itself is pretty crappy compared to Bing maps and some of the higher cost mapping solutions out there. google maps is hardly ever updated
I agree. On a recent trip Google maps showed me roads that no longer existed and other street names which were clearly wrong whereas Apple maps app had the correct information.
I know I'm in Australia which may not be that important to Google, but Apple seems to care.
Also, the Streetview of my street is at least 3 years old as there are several newer buildings that don't show up.
