Sometimes, there are no words to describe someone's insensitivity. You just have to let them express it themselves. So, I give you the words of Reprsentative Steve King (R. Iowa), explaiing why TPS for Haitians is not necessary:
Illegal immigrants from Haiti have no reason to fear deportation, but if they
are deported, Haiti is in great need of relief workers and many of them could be
a big help to their fellow Haitians.
Rep. King's statement is reminiscent of Scrooge's statement from "The Christmas Carol:"
First Collector: At this festive time of year, Mr. Scrooge, it is more than usually desirable that we should make some slight provision for the poor and destitute.
Ebenezer: Are there no prisons?
First Collector: Plenty of prisons.
Ebenezer: And the union workhouses - are they still in operation?
First Collector: They are. I wish I could say they were not.
Ebenezer: Oh, from what you said at first I was afraid that something had happened to stop them in their useful course. I'm very glad to hear it.
Congratulations Representative King. You have reached the level of Ebenezer Scrooge in your feelings for suffering immigrants. I am sure you are proud of yourself.

If you haven't filed I-485 yet, you cannot use AC21 as it requires I-485 to be pending for more than 180 days. It means, that you're stuck with your ex-employer for GC processing unless your new employer is willing to file new LC and I-140 for you. You can port the PD of your approved I-140 to the new one.
Once your PD becomes current, then you can file I-485.

can someone pls help me with a few question on re entry permit. i will be going back to us after 1year 8months. i had applied for re entry perit in oct 2007 - i left us in may 2008 - my re entry permit is valid till july 2010. i will be going to us in feb 2010. my question is will i have problem because i left us before i got my permit. my husband who was still in us got my permit for me.
As far as my understanding goes, as long as you applied for the permit while in US, you are good. It should not matter if you got your approval after you left the country.
Please do check with others as well.

what about the july 07 fiasco filers..i know GC will only be given when visa numbers are available but atleast if 485 is approved we know we are half way thru...no matter the files will be licking the dust for years..gurus please share.

I worked with them for almost a year and ran like anything.
They were paying me meager salary even I had a good rate.
They started GC when I asked, which was good
There health insurance sucked
They reduced my salary at the last moment when I gave notice to my last employer. Agreed to give a raise after 6 monhts, never did. When I asked again after 1 year, they wanted to give me 2K raise which was nothing. This was after end client raised the rate by $5/hr
Owner/sales guy are amway, they'll ask you to go to there meetings. Somehow, i saved myself :)
When I left, they canceled my health insurance from a month back even when they have deducted premium from my salary.When I threatened to log a case with DOL then they gave the money (which they deducted) back. Still, I had to pay medical expense for that month (fortunetly it was less then the premium)

Hi,
I'm in H1B visa and my visa was valid until 26th October , 2012. Recently, I went Bangladesh and US embassy stamped visa until October 23, 2011. When I returned US, Immigration office issued me I-94 validity until September 23, 2011. Now how long I can stay in US?? Do I need to apply for H1B visa extension or I will go to Canada or Mexico to apply for new visa or if I go to Canada or Mexico and return back, they will issue me a new I-94 until Sep/Oct 2012. Any one please suggest what should I do?
Your stay is legal until your I-94 specified date. You can get it resolved by INS or go out of US and reenter (which may turn out to be faster). And this time while entering make sure Immigration officer puts right date on your I-94.

You will be using XNA Game Studio (installs into Visual Studio), to develop games. All your time other than for graphics will be spent in Visual Studio 2010. Highly recommend you have a device. Testing in the emulator is not the greatest for games.
Note: All you need is the freely available tools (Express Editions). Having the student or paid versions does not really benefit those using the XNA Game Studio, or building applications for WP7. I'm sure that page says that, just didn't want you to get confused.
If you have done any other game programming you will find everything pretty easy, just takes a bit to get use to. It sounds like you are new to C#, but don't worry most tutorials are setup in a way this shouldn't be a problem.
The MSDN Create site has code samples and there are lengthy tutorials online that will help you get started with XNA.

You should only disclose class B misdemeanors and up. I would think that your citations are class C misdemeanors, which are same as traffic violations. I don't think you are required to disclose those, unless you got arrested, taken to court, etc. Just my opinion.

My Employer applied for Labor on Aug 11th 2010 and yesterday we got the audit notice saying :
The application indicates the foreign worker is required to live on employer's premises although the application does not indicate the position is for a Live-in domestic. Please provide a detailed explanation indicating the reason the foreign worker must reside with the employer.
In ETA-9089 for Section H-17 question we have checked "Yes" but i guess it should be No.
We miss understood the question and thought it was asking about working at location and maked it yes.
my question is :
1) Can we make correction and send while replying to Audit (RFE)?
Please help on this.

My wife is in the same boat. We filed for H1 amendment in the first week of September and online status tells it's done on 20 November. We still have not received documents in mail from USCIS. This was in Vermont. We were told initially that it might take upto 3 months.
